Finnair relies on operational reliability and sustainable laundry service
When Finnair put its laundry services out to tender, the decision came down above all to operational reliability, capacity, cost efficiency and a logistically ideal location. Those are the reasons Finnair chose Rusanen Group as its laundry partner.

The partnership took off in autumn 2024
Work together began at the turn of September and October 2024, and it now runs at a weekly pace of around 200 roll cages. Rusanen Group's large-scale laundry in Kerava handles tens of thousands of Finnair's passenger and service textiles every week: travel blankets, pillowcases, tablecloths and napkins.
During 2022 we put all of our external services out to tender, laundry services included. The most important criterion in every one of our operations is always serving passengers and making sure they are comfortable while they travel. We chose Rusanen Group as our laundry for its operational reliability, capacity and cost efficiency. The Kerava site is also logistically ideal for us.
says Merja Kiiveri, Logistics Manager at Finnair Oyj
9 million kilos of responsible cleanliness a year
The Kerava large-scale laundry is one of the most modern in Finland and one of the strongest on capacity. It can handle up to 9 million kilos of laundry a year, and its wash lines run a total of 2,000 kilos of textiles an hour. That makes Rusanen Group a solid and responsible partner for large operators as well.
Finnair's requirements and our own operating principles match very well. Customer satisfaction guides everything we do. A clean textile is about more than hygiene. It is part of the passenger experience. As the saying goes, cleanliness is half the meal. Cleanliness is also a large part of the passenger's flight experience.
says Jori Rusanen, CEO of Rusanen Group
Finnish, efficient and responsible
Rusanen Group cleans Finnair's textiles in Finland, economically and with respect for the environment. A responsible operating model, quality and flexible service stay at the centre of the laundry service at all times, including when passenger comfort is at stake.
